Thanks for registering to do these exams. I have pasted a current table of the nations of candidates with 5 or more people signed up below. Well done India and the UK. For the others, you now have an extra weekend to rustle up some more pals. Don’t let the Brits and the Indians show you up!!! Remember it is not restricted to higher trainees in OMFS. Anyone who wants to see what they know and what they don’t – from first degree dental/medical student to qualified specialist aiming for a post-graduate exam. There are a range of questions.
Feb 6th will be the final extension. After that I will ask you to log-in to another website and give me some feedback and some details about yourself. In exchange I will give you a certificate, and your ranking overall, for your level internationally, and nationally (overall and for your level of training).
Thanks again,

Vážení kolegové v předatestační přípravě OMFCH.
Náš zástupce v EACMFS Dr. Michl Vás prosí, abyste do konce ledna 2018 vyplnili níže odkazované „testy“, a závěreň sami navrhli některé otázky, které Vám chybí, s přihlédnutím k místnímu pojetí OMFCH.
Testy jsou původně pro GB, proto se některých otázek nelekejte.
Štěpán Pohanka
Přikládám i průvodní dopis Dr. Magennise s odkazy na testy.
It is now possible to assess your current OMFS knowledge by participating in the second EIOMFA pilot.
Instructions are in the PDF attached which includes a step-by-step guide and screen shots including the link to register https://omfsexam.examfolio.com/
and the password you need (omfsuems2017).
There is no charge to you for participating as the costs of the assessment are being covered by the OMFS Section of UEMS. I would be very grateful if all UK trainees would take the time to participate between now and the end of January.
There are two papers, with no formal time limit on either. One is 110 Single Best Answer (SBA) questions with a recommended completion time of 2 hours (like the FRCS OMFS Part 1a). The other has 67 Extended Matching Items (EMI) with a target time of 1 hour (half the FRCS OMFS Part 1b).
You will see your time taken to complete and your scores after finishing. In February, I will let all participants know their overall ranking and ranking against their peers.
Finally, I recommend you keep a notebook beside you when you are doing the assessment and to record any topics where your knowledge or understanding is weak.
This is an assessment FOR learning not an assessment OF learning. The purpose is to raise everyone’s standards.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas,
Patrick Magennis

23.1.2018: Reminder of deadline to complete EIOMFA (Jan 31st) and request to contribute questions & encourage your pals in OMFS to participate/contribute questions
Thanks for registering to take the EIOMFA. Please try to complete both exams before the deadline of Jan 31st. A few people had hiccups finding the exam after registering. I hope these have been sorted now (but if not let me know).
Please encourage as many of your pals in OMFS (of all levels of training from student to specialist) and from all nations to have a go at the exams.
If you have completed the exams, I really need you to contribute questions using the links below. Without everyone contributing questions, this initiative cannot be sustained. Youi will learn a lot from writing questions, and if you can find inspiration from your own nation’s training exam, it will help other trainees pitch their learning at the correct level.
Everyone who contributes questions will get a certificate acknowledgement for their portfolio.
Thanks again, and best wishes,
Patrick Magennis
